Go Hung is a Hong Kong based artist and attained his Bachelor and Master of Arts degree in Digital Arts at the University of West London and Camberwell College of Arts in London.
After his MA study, he has opened up his medium from physical computing to self-taught making, mostly sculpture. Normally using cardboard and found materials collected from the streets with a bit of a crafty twist, and occasionally uses materials from hardware or domestic stores to create his own tools to shape or cast sculpture, his finished pieces are frequently ‘littered’ back onto the streets for public viewing.
His practice being a metaphor for the wasteful consumerist culture in cities he has lived in, as well as, an attempt to create meaning(s) or his visual language, connecting his project-based material(s) with his subject matter. He uses his works to highlight the various social issues that plagues Hong Kong and the world as whole.
Him and his works have been described as Hong Kong’s most versatile conceptual artist[1], Hong Kong Warhol[2], underground[3], and paid homage to the city[4]. Both of his digital and sculptural works have also been publicly shown in Brazil, China, Denmark, Hong Kong, Iceland, and the United Kingdom.
